GEC's next Training Day is Sunday 27 May and we have 3 fun options for you to choose from:

TTeam workshop with Rebecca Booth
Pilates with Rebecca Ashton
Poles and Grids with Amanda Benson

We will need volunteers to help set up and pack up jumps etc. so please indicate when booking in if you will help out. The day will only run if we get enough helpers.

Mothers Day Dressage Competition - Sunday 13th May

Well the lovely weather continues and this is our final draw by arena and by rider name for this Sunday, Mother's Day. Very little has changed since the first version, just a few scratchings and a few riders moving up from the wait list. Any question on the draw call me on 0402 974 449. And just to make sure the lovely weather continues the wet weather phone number is 0415 279 391.

All parking will be on the grounds, entry off Mansfield Rd. As parking will be tight please follow the instructions of the parking officer, and if possible please car pool/float pool. Some horses will need to be left tied to floats that will be parked on the grass sections. Those doing volunteering will be given first preference to the horse yards.

If you have family coming to watch please ask them to park their cars on the dirt track along Baysfield Rd.

Equestrian Market Day/Car Boot Sale - Saturday 28th April

GEC and Arcadia Pony Club (APC) are running a car boot sale on Saturday 28th April between 9:00am - 12pm on the grounds of the Rural Sports Facility, cnr Bayfield and Mansfields Road, Galston. This event is a fund raiser for both GEC and APC open to members of both clubs and non-members.

Complete the coupon located here and send with your payment to the address on the coupon to secure your place or email jandmbecchio@bigpond.com to register and you will be asked to pay your fee on the day between 7:30am - 8:30am prior to the commencement of the sale.

Sell everything you don't need and fill your tack room with gear you do need - make sure you checkout the list of car boot items for sale. If you have any gear to buy or sell, or know someone who would be interested then please spread the word.

General Riding Day and Pilates - Sunday 22nd April

The general riding day for Sunday 22 April will go ahead at the grounds. The grounds are dry enough for riding. However no equipment will be set out. The gates will be open from 9am.

The Pilates clinic with Rebecca Ashton will also be at the grounds from 9.30am - see flyer for details.

General Riding Day with Easter theme - Monday 9th April

GEC will be having an Open Riding Day (with Easter helmet!) on Easter Monday. Please see flyer for details.

Parelli Clinic - Saturday 7th / Sunday 8th April

As you know we have facilitated a couple of Parelli clinics on our grounds. This time Rob and Carmen are keen to make it a fun weekend by providing the opportunity to camp with you horse. Following a request from Galston Equestrian Club and others in the area they have arranged a two day camp out clinic at Glenorie Pony Club Grounds - please see flyer for details.

GEC Hacking/Gymkhana Day - Sunday 25th March

Sunday 25^th March is the first GEC Open Hack Show and Funkhana Day for 2012. This will be a relaxed day with lots of fun and great prizes thanks to CopRice and NutRice. Pick and choose your classes on the day and bring a friend - please see flyer and program for details.

We cannot run this event without volunteers so if you can spare part or all of the day please let Michelle know on 0419 420 390.

We hope to see you all there (with no rain).

GEC Showjumping Day - Sunday 26th February

Check out the flyer for the Clear Round Showjumping Day to be held on Sunday 26th February at the RSF, Galston.

Please note that if you would like to volunteer in any capacity please contact either myself or Clem Tinslay our Volunteer Co-ordinator to assist. We will be looking for people to assist in setting up the course on Sunday morning. Assistance in the canteen, marshalls, scorers/timekeepers, pole picker uppers, etc etc.

We can't run this day without volunteers .. ie no volunteers no day !
I hope to see as many people as possible on the day.

GEC Registration and Social Riding Day - Sunday 12th February

We have a big year planned for GEC in 2012 starting on 12 February with a huge training day which includes the famous Poles & Grids with Michelle Becchio, the much awaited Horse Agility with Suzanne Bellette and Pilates with Rebecca Ashton. This day is also our official Registration Day and there will be someone at the grounds from 8am to sign you up or if you are really organised and want to save time you can send your Membership Application Forms and money to:

Or if you prefer the face to face method join us afterwards for social chat and get to know other members and meet your 2012 Committee Members.

2012 Membership fees:
$85 for existing riding members; $100 for new riding members; $200 for families.

The canteen will be open from 8.30am for you to purchase yummy cakes, slices, tea, coffee and snacks. At 12.30pm there will be a free Welcome BBQ.

So book early as I am sure everyone is keen to get back in the saddle and hope to see you all there.
